The National Geographic Bartlett 12" political globe features up-to-date award winning cartography from National Geographic. A fully calibrated antique pewter-plated semi-meridian holds the globe a atop a decorative satin nickel base, while the unique LED bulb offers excellent illumination.
Globe details include over 4,000 place names, countries represented in contrasting colors, delineated U.S. states, and major rivers. Warm and cold ocean currents are also labeled, ocean depths are represented with shading. Time dial is featured at the North Pole.
Named for Robert Bartlett (1875-1946), an Arctic explorer and navigator from Newfoundland, Canada. Bartlett won the National Geographic Society’s prestigious Hubbard Medal in 1909 for his efforts as part of Robert Peary’s expedition to the North Pole.
Please note: All Illuminated globes have an electrical cord to power the internal light bulb. The cord is hidden in the photo, but comes out of the south pole axis point.
